Makan After Raya

5th day of Syawal.....dah kembali ke ibu kota , wah! Baru teringin nak makan rendang. Sejak raya belum jamah rendang lagi. Hari ni nak masak rendang ayam tapi sudah semestinya using my Dumb Cooking method laa.....hehehe! No blending needed but it tasted like you've put loads and loads of effort into it *wink*. Am pretty good at cooking dishes by not following the traditional method required but one key thing that I'll try not to take lightly,,,,,,make sure that the core ingredients are available :-

3 instant ingredients that I used in my chicken rendang....Instant coconut milk , instant rendang paste & instant kerisek *not in pic*

Yup! Just how you see in the pic above.....trash everything in the wok! *Hah....macam tu dia masak rendang?* I know , that statement is lingering in your head kan??? Hehehe! Rilex , rilex , learn from the Dumb Cooking expert....hahaha! 

Chicken + cili paste + chopped ginger + chopped garlic + sliced shallots + lemongrass  + turmeric powder + galangal  + turmeric leaves + some water + salt & sugar........heat on and let it simmer on slow fire until the chicken's cook  :-)


Then.....in goes some coconut milk. Let it simmer......and then in goes the kerisek.


Lastly I added hirisan daun kunyit and let it simmer lagi. My chicken rendang done. 

Yna requested for some kuah lodeh untuk dimakan dengan rendang ayam tu.

Sepanjang raya , adalah 4 kali I makan lemang. Watching raya programs with lemang & ketupat on TV throughout Syawal made me think that I've had enough of it. But seriously , it was enough for me.

Many nights in Syawal I made sandwiches for dinner. On one of the nights , it's beef bacon sandwich.

Quick , simple and filling.


On some nites.....just plain cream crackers with hot tea.


Was at Giant Bukit Antarabangsa to buy some butter and saw Golden Churn dah dijual balik dengan logo Halal from ICCV *Islamic Coordinating Council of Victoria Inc* , dalam newspaper dah pun ada story about this butter being certified Halal. Butter dari kilang pengeluaran di Australia is Halal tapi butter Golden Churn dari kilang pengeluaran di New Zealand yang our government haramkan. So , berani makan tak? Hehehe....Well , I would sebab dah ada certification Halal dari related bodies in Australia. Tak yakin? Tak yakin , tak boleh laa makan. Yang certified Halal di Australia pun orang Islam juga....so,,,,,the choice is yours. 1Muslim *wink*

    2. segan la kak rima... terkejut pun ada nampak akak. selalu baca blog akak je, silent reader je pulak tu. tetiba terjumpa malu pulak nak tegur. Hana pun patient dr. ashar jugak since 1st pregnancy lagi. memang he is the best gynae kan kak? he is a doctor yg paling tenang and relax sampai kita pun takde rasa takut... what you wrote on him is totally correct la kak....
